Good to know
When to go?
The ideal period runs from May to September. Even if the weather can be capricious in the mountains, the route is generally ridden in good conditions. Still, bring suitable clothing and protection for rain, wind and sun. Avoid peak season as much as possible (mid-July to mid-August): it is busy and some roads can be crowded, especially along the coast. Please contact us.
Accommodation in Croatia
While attractive hotels with character have been developing in recent years, there are still many large, rather charm-less structures inherited from the Yugoslav era. Croatia is also one of the champions of furnished rentals. We do not list many apartments in the 'Accommodation' section, but please note they make up a very large share of the offer—in cities, along the coast or elsewhere. We can absolutely propose more apartments (ideally with a minimum 2-night stay) on request. In peak season, you must plan ahead to book. First come, first served...
Riding in Croatia
No particular difficulty or traps to fear. However, be mindful of some smaller roads early in the season, which may still show the scars of a harsh winter, especially in mountainous areas. On weekends, public holidays and during summer vacation periods, traffic can be heavier on certain roads—particularly on the Magistral Route along the Adriatic coast.
