Yellowstone All in White

Around 8am, your guide will meet you at the hotel and drive you toward the Yellowstone National Park area. We will settle into rustic cabins near the Yellowstone River before exploring the park and the incredible Mammoth Hot Springs limestone terraces.

We then follow a remote trail through the Gardiner Valley, rich in wildlife and flora, toward the Boiling River. Chances of seeing elk, bison, pronghorn and deer are high. In the evening, we gather for a shared meal at the cabins.

Hike (Mammoth Hot Springs): 2-3 hours walking (4-5 miles)

After a 100-year absence, wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in 1995. Bringing this apex predator back into such a complex ecosystem remains an incredible story. Today, we will join a naturalist to look for wolves in the Lamar Valley.

We will certainly see herds of bison that spend the winter here. We will explore trails on snowshoes among bison and pronghorn.

Don't forget your swimsuit to enjoy the hot springs in the evening!

Hike (Lamar Valley): 2-4 hours walking (3-5 miles)

The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is a deep canyon carved into soft rock, with impressive basalt cliffs.

We will walk along the snow-covered road with incredible views over the canyon and Calcite Springs. Elk, bison, mule deer and bighorn sheep will be our companions today.

Tower Falls, a bit further north, is a must on a winter Yellowstone tour. In the afternoon, we head toward the park's western entrance.

Today we travel on the snowy roads of Yellowstone to the famous Old Faithful geyser.

Most Yellowstone roads are closed in winter and can only be accessed by Snow Coach.

Our excursion takes us past colorful mud pots and steam vents, including the magnificent Grand Prismatic Spring, before reaching the steaming Upper Geyser Basin.

Walk among active geysers and other unbelievable geothermal features while waiting for Old Faithful's eruption, which happens about every 90 minutes...

We will likely see bison covered in frost, elk and bald eagles.

Hidden trails lead us along the Madison River toward the park. We will likely spot bison and bald eagles.

With a bit of luck, we may see trumpeter swans and river otters!

In the afternoon, we drive south to Jackson Hole, gateway to the magnificent Grand Teton National Park.

Discover this lovely town at your own pace, popular in winter for its ski areas (Teton Village...) and in summer as well. Prices match its reputation.

Hike (Madison River): 3 hours walking (4 miles)

Grand Teton National Park borders Yellowstone along its southern edge.

This popular park is wonderfully quiet in winter because most roads are closed to cars.

We spend the day here in the shadow of the majestic Grand Teton, rising to 4,198 meters.

We then enjoy a ranger-led sled ride through the National Elk Refuge, across the winter range of 7,000 elk.

Our tour ends today. Transfer to the airport by shuttle or taxi (not included).

The airport is only about 15 minutes from Jackson Hole.
