Norway offers a diversity of landscapes among the most spectacular in the world, along its 2,500 km of coastline!
The fjord region, east of Bergen, is the star, with the Geirangerfjord, Nærøyfjord, Lysefjorden and its rock Preikestolen, or the Hardangerfjord. The Trolls' Road and the Eagles' Road wind their hairpins there, as impressive as those of Lysevegen, further south towards Stavanger. North of Bergen, the Atlantic Road is a must, with its bridges linking countless islets.
In the north, a huge favorite for the Lofoten archipelago beyond the Arctic Circle, and for its neighbor the Vesteralen. To get there, you must take the fabulous coastal road 17 with its ferries, before boarding at Bodø. Finally, the North Cape makes many riders dream, at the cost of a long road to get there.
Mountain lovers will enjoy the national parks of Jotunheimen and Rondane, and along the Sognefjellet, on the roof of Norway! In the east, you'll find Olympic Lillehammer, as well as the magnificent listed town of Røros, built in wood. Not far from Oslo, the Telemark region is the cradle of Nordic skiing. It is home to the famous Telemark Canal, with its typical locks.
The southern coastline, nicknamed the "Riviera", is dotted with lovely coastal towns, like Mandal, lighthouses including the iconic Lindesnes lighthouse, coves and wild beaches.
History and architecture lovers will delight in the beautiful "stavkirke" (stave churches), these ancient wooden pillar churches. Fewer than 30 remain, including those of Heddal and Borgkund. And don't forget the cities: Oslo, Kristiansand, Stavanger, Bergen, Ålesund, Trondheim or Tromso, all very pleasant. Skol!
