Accommodation and vehicle prices vary depending on many factors: availability, level of demand, your booking date… and above all, the period of your vacation. Unsurprisingly, July and August are the most expensive months, closely followed by September. June is a bit cheaper, while May and October often offer better prices. Our calculations are based on June pricing. However, many parameters may affect the final quote, such as the types of accommodations selected.
When to go?
This itinerary can be done year-round, but the ideal period is between April and October. Some roads on the described route may be closed (even temporarily) during winter or shoulder seasons due to snow. We may therefore partially adjust the route depending on the chosen travel period. Please consult us.
Rooms in Canada
With the notable exception of large cities, the price of a hotel room varies little depending on the number of occupants. A room with two Queen-size beds occupied by 4 people will cost the same, or only a few % more, than if occupied by 2 people. Most properties have King-size beds (approx. 1.8m to 2m wide) for rooms with one bed, and Queen-size beds (approx. 1.6m wide) for rooms with two beds. However, this is not the case everywhere, especially in some small properties. Bed dimensions are indicative. The vast majority of hotels allow a maximum of 4 people per room (2 beds). Some hotels can provide an extra bed for 1 person (“rollaway”) on a “first come, first served” basis, for an additional fee. This extra fee is not included in the trip price and must be paid on site.
Driving in Canada
It is easy and there are no particular risks. At intersections without traffic lights, the right-of-way rule is “first come, first served”. In other words, there is no priority-to-the-right rule: you proceed in order of arrival. By default, when you reach a traffic light, you may turn right even on red—however, you do not have priority!
